Day Twelve-Creativity

“Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.”
Dee Hock

Our minds are so cluttered these days. Between a twenty- four seven news cycle, work, and family obligations, we seem to be fighting a losing battle when it comes to finding time for creativity.

I’ve found that creating routines can help put some things on autopilot. Not that you’ll have a whole lot of time available to daydream, but not having to keep track of everything in your head, might free up a little creative space.

Creative Activity

Read a magazine at a coffee shop.
I’ve actually done this before, and it was a lot of fun. First go to a place like Barnes and Noble and purchase a fun magazine that captures your interest. I enjoy the magazines about creativity and creative people. I always find them to be inspiring.

Then  try out a new coffee shop that you’ve never been to before. Order something new, and savor it while enjoying your magazine. Jot down a few ideas either on your phone or in a small notebook. (Keeping a small notebook on hand is a great way to keep up with your creative ideas.)

Use these ideas for inspiration the next time you want to create.

I’ve included a link to a magazine I’ve purchased before:
