I remember when I was teaching I always tried to connect new learning to prior learning. Helping the children make connections increased their ability to comprehend new information.
Connecting the dots is one way to enhance creativity. How do the pieces fit together? What do I already know that might help me solve a problem?
How can I challenge myself to look for connections?
Creative Activity
Plan a weekend getaway. Choose some place you’ve never been before that is relatively close to home. Too much driving time takes away from your actual vacation time. Do your research ahead of time, and choose either to spend the night at a Bed and Breakfast or a really cool Airbnb. Check out the internet for things to do, and ask friends for recommendations.
Each time I visit a new place I returned refreshed with a new perspective about my familiar surroundings, and my creativity is enhanced.
