This novel by Kristin Hannah is another winner.
The story takes place during the 30’s with the Dust Bowl in the Texas Panhandle as the setting.
It is the story of a woman who shows remarkable strength as she faces the challenges that confront her. As she moves her family to California in hopes of a better life, she has no idea what is actually ahead.
I learned so much about this time period, and the atrocities that American citizens faced just trying to feed their families.
It is both thought provoking, and a heart breaking story, and one I hope includes a sequel.
I highly recommend this one.
